My name is James Stark, and I'm a long time Wikipedia lover. Really, you'd be hard pressed to find any other source that consolidates so much information in such an easily accessible and utilitarian singular source. With its building reputability and increasing sway in legitimate academic spheres, it was really only a matter of time before I registered an official account and become an official "Wikipedian," as it were. I wouldn't expect great things from me, though; this place is crawling with real intellectuals and experts and I can't help but feel a wee-bit intimidated. Still, as a contemporary and advocate of the information age, I'll do what I can, when and where I can.

Oh, and don't ask about the username. It's a long story (well, not so much long as it is incredibly boring. Trust me, you'd rather not hear it.

A little about myself

Currently, I'm little else but your average college prep student trying to survive from one day to the next. Last I checked, I'm still alive. So far so good.

My interests include reading, playing video games, faffing about on the internet, and basically anything that could be considered lazy and unproductive. Work of any sort is my kryptonite, and the instant something becomes a job is the instant that it becomes the bane of my existence.
To me, there is nothing more valuable than a good, hard think. You simply cannot top the catharsis that a nice little thinking session provides. I think my favorite time to think is when it rains. I love the rain. People tend to give me odd looks when I linger chin-up and similing in the middle of a downpour. I don't really care, though; I may be soaked but I feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.

My areas of expertise

Note that I use the term "expertise" in the loosest possible sense; I'm far from an expert in any of the following areas. Perhaps I would be better catergorized as an enthusiast. Still, I think I know enough to add some tidbits here and there. Once again, though; don't expect anything remarkable. I'm only a high-school student, remember?

  • Modern Middle Eastern politics and religion
    • The Arab-Israeli conflict
    • Religious/political radicalism in the region
  • Video game culture and general information
  • Western philosophy
  • Christianity
  • American history and culture

Valediction

Thanks for visiting my user page! If you have anything you want or need to talk to me about, remember to drop me a line at my talk page. I'll make sure to reply posthaste.

Also, feel free to edit the dickens out of this page. It could probably use some reformatting anyway. Just make sure whatever you add is relevant and appropriate. It's not like the "undo" button is difficult to press, but try to stay your hand regardless.
