Kryptos

Kryptos is a Heavy Metal band from Bangalore, India. It was formed in 1998 by Nolan Lewis (vocals/guitars) and Ganesh K (ex- Vocalist/bassist).

History

Their debut album Spiral Ascent was released in 2004. It was a self-financed album but later The End Records were distributor for the album. Niklas Sundin of Dark Tranquillity designed the album art for Spiral Ascent. The band had seen various line-up changes through the years.

The current line-up was formed in 2006 with only Nolan Lewis remaining from the original line-up. After the departure of Ganesh K, Nolan handles both vocals and guitars. In 2006,they signed a deal with California based Old School Metal Records. They are amongst a handful of Indian Metal bands to get a deal with an international label. Their second album The Ark of Gemini was released worldwide on 13th June 2008 through OSM Records. It topped various U.S. Metal Radio stations. It was in Top 10 at FMBQ Top Metal Albums on the first week of June. It was in Top 20 for three consecutive weeks (9th June-23 June) on WORT-FM Loud Rock, the first two times in Top 10. Chart Positions.[1]

The band was also featured on the online edition of India's National Newspaper, The Hindu. [2]

Kryptos opened for Iron Maiden along with 7 other Indian and international bands at Rock In India 2009.
