Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Leyland Trucks article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.3 and later."
You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the "Help Desk". You can also leave a message on my talk page. —Snigbrook 17:20, 12 January 2009 (UTC) The content was also more appropriate for the Leyland Motors article, not the Leyland Trucks article, which is about the company established in 1993. —Snigbrook 17:20, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- I removed the text that was copied from the website (it is still in the page's edit history). The website has "© 2007 PACCAR Inc All rights reserved" on the page and there is nothing to indicate the copyright notice does not apply to the page. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials and Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for more information about how to confirm permission has been given for its use under a suitable licence. —Snigbrook 17:23, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Steve, In this post you claim to be the owner of the content at http://www.leylandtrucksltd.co.uk/ If so, you should be able to change the copyright notice there, “© 2007 PACCAR Inc All rights reserved” releasing the text under GFDL and the images under GFDL or another free license. All content on Wikipedia must be licensed that way. —teb728 t c 00:34, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
