Kemin is the northeast panhandle raion (district) of Chuy Province in northern Kyrgyzstan. The capital lies at Kemin. [1]: The raion corresponds to the Chong-Kemin Valley, which separates the western Trans-Ili Alatau in the north from the western Kungey Alatau in the south, between Almaty and Lake Issyk Kul. There is a pass and then another valley which separates the eastern halves of the two ranges.
