Andrew Ketterley
Uncle Andrew is the first antagonist to appear in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew, who is the "magician" of which the title speaks of, although he only copies the magic tricks he learns from books. He is initially portrayed as a frightening figure, although later on we see that Uncle Andrew is less than intimidating in comparison to a true evil person, such as Queen Jadis. He is not exactly a villain, but he causes much trouble during the book both intentionally and incompetantly. He has been described as prideful as a peacock, and he has a drinking problem. However, come the ending of the book, he becomes much less of a sinner, but nowhere near perfection. In contrast with his ill demeanor, the talking beasts unintentionally abuse him throughout the book and he is portrayed as someone to feel sorry for.
