Barrington Hall was a student housing cooperative at the University of California at Berkeley. It was the original property of the University Students Cooperative Association (USCA). In earlier years, Trotskyists and Stalinists fought in the endless corridors. In later years, it gained an extraordinary amount of notoriety for rock'n'roll, drug use, irony, and chaos. Barrington was closed in 1989 after a USCA referendum abolished its existence. For a vast minority of its members, Barrington was an incredible amount of fun. Pizza Night was one of the most memorable "nights." And then there was that time when we were the subject of an exposé. The band Primus's song "Frizzle Fry" was based on a party held at Barrington at which punch laced with LSD was allegedly served.

The Barrington diaspora ranges far and wide.
