Katie Leung (born August 8 , 1987; born in Scotland) is the Scottish actress who is playing the character of Cho Chang in the coming film version of the J. K. Rowling novel, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Leung lives in Motherwell, a district near Glasgow. Her parents are separated and she currently resides with her father Peter Leung, two brothers (one is called Jonathon) and a younger sister. After her father saw an advert on television calling for girls of East Asian appearance to audition for the role of Cho Chang in London, she travelled out of her native Scotland to try her luck, and, for a bit of shopping. Leung was selected out of more than 4,000 other hopefuls in the auditions for the part of Cho Chang.

Relatively little is known about the actress at this point. Daniel Radcliffe, the actor playing Harry Potter, noted that he found Leung to be "awesome" and a "really good actress."
