SPIKES is an athletics website and magazine published by Haymarket Network in conjunction with the IAAF and UK Athletics.

The magazine and website were launched[1] in July 2008 at an event attended by IAAF vice president Lord Sebastian Coe, Steve Ovett, Jonathan Edwards, Colin Jackson and Wilson Kipketer.

The magazine is currently published three times a year, costing £2.50 and is 64 pages in English only.

Although presently only distributed to UK households, the magazine covers all of world athletics. The aim is to raise awareness of the sport and recognition of the athletes by encouraging discussion through challenging features and profiles.

The website sits alongside the magazine and includes different features, videos of world records, descriptions of the main disciplines within the sport and profiles of the heroes of the sport, as well as a public vote on the current top 100 athletes worldwide and previews of the big events.
