Feeldoes

Someone needs to add the harnessless styles. I have no experiance with that style, so I can't myself.

Agreed. While it may not technically "strap on", feeldoes are a first cousin to the double-ended styles.
I wrote a section on it when I wrote the article, and it seems to still be in there, as well as another mention someone else added... If you want a larger section, feel free to expand it, or send me a feeldoe of my own so I can write more about them.  :) Bushytails 20:34, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree with JzG

The feeldoe needs its own page. It is not a strap-on phallus. forestPIG 22:47, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free images

Mrrf! It's new, it's shiny, it's DONE! Well, as done as anything ever is when first posted.

The two vac-u-lock images are not free, and I'd be happier if the article used only free images (all the others I took myself and GFDLed, except for the BOB video cover). Anyone with a vac-u-lock harness, especially one with double internal plugs (the Ultra Harness 2000 Female being the most notable one, which I definitely wish I owned to photograph (and other things...)), might want to take some new photos for these two images. Keep in mind images from, say, online stores, are not usable on Wikipedia.

And now I need to get back to WikiProject Metalworking before the other wikiproject people yell at me. :) Bushytails 19:50, 13 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

With the addition of some vac-u-lock toys to the toybox, I've uploaded free replacements for the two vac-u-lock images, so the article is now entirely free except for the BOB video cover. And they're much better images, too! Bushytails 05:24, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hrmm, looking at them more, they're not of the quality I like... I didn't have my full photo booth, lights, etc, set up, and just used my camera's flash... the light diffused through the jelly completely wrong. I may need to re-take those... Good enough for now, though. Bushytails 05:29, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DYK Discussion

To keep this page short, the old DYK-related discussion and page suggestions made at that time have been archived to Talk:Strap-on dildo/DYK Archive. Bushytails 05:36, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Transpeople and Correct Pronouns

I edited one section of this article to use male pronouns for FTM (female-to-male) transsexual men. The article correctly used female pronouns for MTF transsexual women. Ridethegallows 17:53, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

pictures

There really does't need to be that many pictures. This article could work fine with none at all, actualy. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 63.245.145.114 (talk) 22:54, 14 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Well, we've got 'em, I can't see how the article would be made better by removing them, so.. um, thanks. - CHAIRBOY () 23:20, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

History, references

If anyone can find actual peer-reviewed documents relating to the history of the strap-on, please, please, please add them to the history section. I've found random scattered facts, but no actual scholary papers except Haberlandt's, and even that I couldn't find a free source for, only sites that charge you absurd amounts just to look at it. Anthropologists seem to avoid researching anything that might make them unpopular... blah! Bushytails 02:56, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Foreskin?

Do the dildos have artificial foreskins as well? Siúnrá (talk) 12:29, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I remember reading about quite a few of those in an Adam & Eve catalog, but I don't have any sources or links that we can use in this article. I request that someone write a few lines about this, though. KiwiMaddog (talk) 23:49, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

More information from Super Strapless Silicone Dildo, Share, Nexus Maximus and Transfer,

Hello,

Could someone write more with pictures from Super Strapless Silicone Dildo, Share, Nexus Maximus and Transfer I think they are similar with Feeldoe, but there is some differences too. OR should there be actually own wikipedia article in total for these in double headed dildo section?

Whatever404's edits

I really don't like making blanket reverts of large good-faith edits, but some things really didn't work with that batch... First, somehow the reorganizing ended up losing a _lot_ of information... about 2.5K worth. I'm reverting it until I can figure out where it should be stuck back in!

Second, the TOC became two screens long! I switched the article originally to lists/idents/bullets/etc instead of headers to prevent this... What is other people's opinion on this issue? I, for one, don't like needing to scroll two screens for it, and I think most of the topics are list-worthy rather than header-worthy.

Third, many things were re-worded to be less accurate, less informative, or became stuffier... Even a simple change like "2 straps or 3?" to "multi-strap" completely changes the meaning of the section, which is to show how different manufacturers list their harnesses differently. Some sections look to have been removed or reworded to be stuffier and a less engaging article.

Unfortunately, I've got a rather nasty flu right now, so I can't really figure out all of what happened trying to look at the diffs, where the 2.5K of missing info went, etc... so I changed it back to the last version until this can be figured out, there's some discussion on headers vs lists, etc.
