International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR)

The International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) is an organization that represents the interests of human resource professionals at the federal, state and local levels of government. IPMA-HR members include all levels of public sector HR professionals. The association's goal is to provide information and assistance to help HR professionals increase their job performance and overall agency function by providing cost effective products, services and educational opportunities.

The mission of IPMA-HR is to provide human resource leadership and advocacy, professional development, information and services to enhance organizational and individual performance in the public sector.

IPMA-HR Products and Services

IPMA-HR Products and Services include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • HR Center — 24/7 anywhere/anytime access to IPMA-HR’s online portal for the latest HR trends, statistics, benchmarking, plus a large database of sample policies, forms and templates from other agencies.
  • HR News — The monthly magazine of IPMA-HR, covering innovative personnel policies and practices, labor relations, state and federal legislation, and many other current topics that are fundamental to human resources.
  • Professional Development and Certification — Webinars, seminars and conferences tailored specifically to public sector HR professionals, plus certifications through either the IPMA-CP or CS designations.
  • Assessment Products and Services — High-quality examinations for the public sector, including the fire, police, correctional, dispatcher, and clerical arenas.
  • Public Personnel Management — The quarterly, scholarly journal of the association, which provides in-depth analysis of policies and procedures and examples of how they are implemented in other organizations.
  • Government Affairs Updates — Stay in touch with state- and federal-level proposals and decisions that could affect your work and career.
