The Ro-100 class submarine (呂第一〇〇型潜水艦, Ro-100-gata sensuikan) is mediun size submarine of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN), serving during World War II. IJN called Small Type (小型, Ko gata) or Submarine-Small Type (潜小型, Sen-Shō gata) officially.

Construction

Project number S45. In 1940, the IJN was planned a point-defence submarine, because the IJN wanted to use their large-sized submarine into naval battles. 18 boats were built in 1941-1944 under the Temporal Naval Armaments Supplement Programme (マル臨計画, Maru Rin Keikaku, Boat #210-218) and the Rapidly Naval Armaments Supplement Programme (マル急計画, Maru Kyū Keikaku, Boat #400-408).
