Jordan Schafer (born September 4, 1986 in Template:City-state) is a Major League Baseball center fielder for the Atlanta Braves. He is the Braves third best prospect according to Baseball America.[1]

Baseball career

Schafer was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the third round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft.[2] In April of 2008 he was suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball after testing positive for the use of HGH.[3]

Schafer was named the Braves' starting center fielder for the 2009 season on April 3, 2009, despite never having played at a higher level than Double-A.[4] He made his major league debut on April 5, 2009, hitting his first career home run in his first major league at bat against Brett Myers of the Philadelphia Phillies.
