RTQ is an Australian television station broadcasting in regional Queensland in Australia. The network was owned by Star Television, before being purchased by the WIN Corporation on October 5, 1988.[1]

WIN News produces regional news bulletins for the seven regional markets covered by RTQ - Rockhampton, Cairns, Townsville, Toowoomba, the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay. Reporters and camera crews are based within all regions from newsrooms in Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Cairns, Mackay, Maroochydore, Toowoomba and Townsville.

Studio presentation for the Rockhampton, Mackay and Cairns bulletins are pre-recorded from RTQ's Rockhampton studios. The Townsville and Sunshine Coast bulletins are broadcast live from the Rockhampton and Toowoomba studios, with weather for the Toowoomba and Wide Bay bulletins pre-recorded from Rockhampton. The Toowoomba and Wide Bay bulletins are pre-recorded from the Toowoomba studios.


WIN News Rockhampton & Central Queensland, WIN News Mackay, WIN News Townsville & North Queensland and WIN News Cairns & Far North Queensland are presented by Samantha Heathwood (news) and Paul Taylor (news & sport) with weather presenter Peter Byrne from the Rockhampton studios of WIN Television.

WIN News Toowoomba is presented by Marita Ramia and Travis McNamara with sports presenter Pat O' Shea and weather presenter Peter Byrne.


WIN News Sunshine Coast and WIN News Wide Bay are presented by Marita Ramia (news) and Travis McNamara (news & sport) with weather presenter Davina Smith for the Sunshine Coast bulletin and weather presenter Peter Byrne for the Wide Bay bulletin.

These news broadcasts converted to the widescreen format on December 14, 2008.


WIN News Late Edition is a Queensland statewide edition bulletin, which incorporates stories from the seven WIN News markets. This bulletin is presented at midnight from Rockhampton's RTQ studios by Paul Taylor (news & sport) and Peter Byrne (weather).
