Electromethanogenesis
Appearance
Electromethanogenesis is a process where methane is produced by direct biological conversion from electrical current and carbon dioxide.[1][2] The reduction process is carried out in a microbial fuel cell. An 2009 article by Cheng and Logan reports that a current capture efficiency of 96% can be achieved using a 1.0 V current.[1]
