Congrats to a job well done!
Thank you very much for your contributions to many of the stadium pages for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Clearing up those redlinks was a good task to acomplish and you have made great strides in doing so. I appreciate your effort on Wikipedia! If you ever need help, feel free to contact me on my talk page! I look forward to seeing you helping out on the Olympics pages!

Olympic venue category mergers
FYI. I have been noticing that some category venues used for both the Summer Olympics and Winter Olympics have different names. All of the Winter games have YYYY Winter Olympics venues category listings while the Summer games either have YYYY Summer Olympics venues or Venues of the YYYY Summer Olympics except for the 2004 Summer Olympics which has Athens Olympics venues. Which way do you think needs to go? Chris (talk) 16:34, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Wikimapia ban
What is your Wikimapia user ID? -Arb. (talk) 08:50, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- It's the same as my user ID at all sites in which I am a member, Jim856796. I put something in the talk page on the WikiMapia article just for a Wikimapia user. I'm pretty sure you're not a user of Wikimapia. It will be hopeless if my ban from Wikimapia is permanent. Jim856796 (talk) 09:02, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- There is some discussion about you in Wikimapia's forum, here. You do not have to be logged in to read it. I have not read it (too long, other pressing matters) but if you believe that you have been treated unfairly then your best bet is to appeal to koriakine at the general email address given in WikiMapia's FAQ. -Arb. (talk) 11:59, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, I usually read my e-mails at MSN Explorer, but I have not used it for months because they were not able to sign me in due to a problem with their service. So technically MSN Explorer is not working on my computer. Also, that restriction also means that I cannot see my replies. I will never get unbanned from WikiMapia in any way. I was going to answer the questions, but they banned me before I could do so. Should I resign from Wikipedia because of this? Jim856796 (talk) 12:20, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
- "I was going to answer the questions, but they banned me before I could do so." If that is true then it would be a very good argument to put to koriakine once you get your email working.
- "Should I resign from Wikipedia because of this?" No. Incidents on WikiMapia are of no consequence to Wikipedia.
- Please note that I will not be able to spend any more time on this. -Arb. (talk) 16:47, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Hyatt Regency Birmingham
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Hyatt Regency Birmingham, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- no assertion of notability
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
