Charles Spearin is a Canadian musician. He is a founding member of Do Make Say Think and KC Accidental, and also contributes to Broken Social Scene and Valley of the Giants. He is easily recognized on stage by his trademark moustache.
His newest album The Happiness Project is a concept album [1] and was released on February 14, 2009 on the Arts & Crafts Label.[2]. This album includes contributions from Do Make Say Think alumni Julie Penner, Kevin Drew, and Ohad Bentrichit, and BSS alumni Leon Klingstone and Evan Cranley. The concept for the Happiness Project (making music out of ordinary speech) is influenced by his early life with a blind father and his own Buddhist studies. He also cites the book Stumbling on Happiness as a later influence.
He lives with his wife and two small children in the Toronto neighbourhood that was the inspiration for the Happiness Project.
