In Lingua Mortua is a norwegian band formed by Lars Fredrik Frøislie in 1999 at Hønefoss, Norway. The music could be described as a mixture of progressive rock and extreme metal, and instruments like the Mellotron M400, MiniMoog, Hohner Clavinet D6, Hammond C3 and SCI Prophet-5 is used frequently as well as saxophone, bass clarinet, steel guitar and violin.

The band features members from Shining (Swedish band), Shining (Norwegian band), White Willow, Wobbler, Xploding Plastix, Urgehal and Keep of Kalessin.
