Spotswood is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Its Local Government Area is the City of Hobsons Bay.

Spotswood was the setting of the eponymous Australian film, Spotswood, made in 1992. It starred Anthony Hopkins, Toni Collette, and Bruno Lawrence. Russell Crowe played a minor character.

Spotswood is also known for the Victorian Science Museum, known as Scienceworks. Scienceworks is in the old Gas Building of Spotswood.

The suburb was named after Jane Spotswood, wife of Richard Seddon.
