What does "outright land speed record" mean? 300 mph was surpassed in 1935, so surely this isn't quite the same thing. Is this over a shorter distance? (eg. 500m?) --Interiot 16:42, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
- I think it means "land speed record on British soil" (most of the land speed records are set on the salt flats of Utah or some such). Kinitawowi 17:45, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps it means fastest on land for any vehicle. I'm sure there are other land speed records steam powered, pedal powered, electric powered, on rails, etc? Talskiddy 08:44, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
I added a reference to the current fate of the vehicle (last known being sold on eBay) but I haven't found out if there was a buyer, who it was, how much it sold for, and what the eventual fate will be. This would be good to locate and add. XenonofArcticus (talk) 20:12, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
I think the image should be changed, move the hammond crash image down and get a proper photo of the car
