WNWR
North Warren's official television news program, WNWR, is displayed on televisions each morning in every classroom. WNWR was started in the 1970s when it was an on-campus radio station. Through the years, it was transformed into a television studio. Most recently, in 2005-2006, WNWR was a monthly broadcast that aired during lunch periods. The next school year, 2006-2007, 4 friends, Charles Yankowski, Henry Menzel, Michael Fenton, and Jonathan Kluska revamped the entire production, with their advisor, Mr. Golzio. In this new format, WNWR became a weekly broadcast that was shown Friday mornings during first period. The next year, 2007-2008, the show took the form that is now seen today. WNWR includes the Pledge of Allegiance , followed by the daily school announcements. In the past, every Friday, a pre-recorded show was presented, instead of the usual live performance. This pre-recorded show started off with the Pledge, as does the live show, but was followed by an introduction featuring a different song each week. After the introduction, the anchors said a couple of announcements, usually including jokes, and plays on words. In the middle of the show, there was normally footage of the recent sporting events in the school. Following the footage, the anchors finished the announcements, and an outro was played, also featuring a different song each week.
