Wiregrass Electric Cooperative, Inc. is a not-for-profit rural electric utility cooperative headquartered in Hartford, Alabama. It is a member of the Alabama Rural Electric Association of Cooperatives[1] and the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives alliance[2].

Wiregrass was organized in 1939, began distribution in 1940, and took its name from the Wiregrass Region which it serves. It was created to serve rural customers not serviced by the large power companies.

Currently, Wiregrass serves more than 22,000 customers in portions of five counties, including Houston, Geneva, Dale, Coffee, and Covington[3].
