Quinn Allman

Quinn Allman (born January 18, 1982 in Orem, Utah) is the guitarist for the American Rock band The Used.

Early Life

Quinn grew up in Orem, Utah, a strict Mormon community. He has two younger brothers, Ian and Riley, and an older sister, Rondee[1]. His first sport was baseball, and he played shortstop. As a student at Lehi High School he was shy and argued with his teachers often. [citation needed] His first steady job was at Arby's, and he continued his career in the fast food industry with a 3 hour employment at McDonalds. His last job before signing was with a golf course[2]. his first band was called "Hey Santos!". At age fifteen he formed "Dumb Luck",[3] which later became The Used, with Jeph Howard and Brandon Steineckert. When a position opened for a singer in Dumb Luck, Quinn remembered Bert McCracken from high school, and contacted him for an audition. Bert became their lead singer days later.

Career

Quinn is currently lead guitarist for the band The Used. He has produced four albums with The Used, including their latest project, Artwork, which will be released in late spring of 2009. Quinn wrote the song "On My Own" and came up with the video concept for "All That I've Got" [4]. He cites Jimmy Eat World, Goldfinger, New Transit Direction, Face to Face and Mars Volta as his musical influences[5].Quinn is currently touring with The Used across the U.S. he produces a band called Evaline as a side project[6].

Personal Information

Quinn's interests outside of music include photography, guitar, getting pictures of Michael Jackson and tweaking them, sleeping in, and making short movies[7]. He is against eating meat because of the cruel conditions animals are kept in, and he has made a video for PETA promoting a vegetarian diet [8]. He is now five feet ten inches. Quinn smokes cigarettes, but is not dangerously addicted to any drugs[9]. The first mark on his criminal record was for stealing, but his most publicized arrest was for attempting to protect his fans after a show in Jacksonville, Florida from a police officer who wanted to arrest them for "loitering" in the parking lot[10] .
