Hallo! Welcome! My name is Jimmy Wales, and I was born in the wonderful city of Huntsville, Alabama. I founded Wikipedia in 2001. Since 2006, I have been Chair Emeritus of the Wikimedia Foundation, which I founded in 2003. Along with Angela Beesley, I am the co-founder of Wikia. Wikia is a completely separate organization, unrelated to Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation.

Contacting mePress inquiries: If your press inquiry is strictly about Wikipedia or another Wikimedia project, you can contact me directly by e-mail or you can call the Foundation office and speak to our communications person, Jay, at +1 415 839 6885. If your press inquiry is for my personal views on some general topic, contact my assistant Lisa at presswikia.com. She knows how to find me as quickly as possible. If your press inquiry is about Wikia (a for-profit company completely separate from Wikimedia/Wikipedia, extending the Wikipedia social model to become "the rest of the library"), also contact Lisa at presswikia.com. General Wikipedia questions: You will probably be satisfied by contacting the help desk. Remember, if you're with the press, please follow the instructions above. Complaints: The best thing to do if you have a complaint is to start with the help desk. Ask a short, friendly question, and Wikipedians will be happy to help you. Contacting me directly with a complaint should be reserved for after you have exhausted all other remedies. Other inquiries of any kind can be sent by e-mail to jwaleswikia.com. (Press inquiries by e-mail are also welcome.) Statement of principlesAs we move forward with software and social changes, I think it is imperative that I state clearly and forcefully my views on openness and the license. This page, like all Wikipedia pages, is a living, dynamic document, which the community and I will update and clarify as legitimate questions arise. I should point out that these are my principles, such that I am the final judge of them. This does not mean that I will not listen to you, but it does mean that at some ultimate, fundamental level, this is how Wikipedia will be run. (But have no fear, as you will see, below.)
The original version of this statement of principles was first published on Wikipedia on 27 October 2001.

You may edit this page!Really, you can! Please feel free to do so. Just do it! Make an edit! Make several edits! Make thousands of edits! After all, that's what Wikipedia is all about! (just make sure the edits conform to Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines) Now, you all know that this is my user page. I like to keep it a certain way, but the thing is, I trust you. Yes, I really do. I trust that you'll add something here that makes me smile, that informs me, or that helps to inform others. If I have things in a certain format, I trust that you will respect that format. Actually, scratch that. Since this page is just so simple and plain, my ultimate dream is that some person who thinks it is fun would come along and make it look perfect, or close to perfect. See that link up here that says 'edit this page'? Go for it. It's a "wiki world"! — Jimbo N.B. Many Wikipedians have my user page on their watchlist and will edit mercilessly or even remove altogether any bad faith alterations made. This is a wiki, after all. So if you are here to vandalize, why don't you turn around and become a faithful editor? After all, Wikipedia can always use many more faithful editors. It is, of course, a work in progress! Comments or questions on how this page currently looks should be directed to my talk page.
Your contributions and donations can help make Wikipedia better!

Meta has related information at: 72.21.155.72 ==Information== Note that this page is for access on Meta only. See the Steward requests/Permissions page for adminship/deadminship requests on other projects. ===Regular adminship=== #Before requesting admin access, please ensure you meet all of the minimum criteria: #* Be an administrator, bureaucrat, or checkuser on a local Wikipedia or related project. #* Have a user page on Meta, with links to the user pages on other participated projects. This can state that SUL is activated or be provided via a Wiki matrix if that is not possible. #* Have a valid contact address (either a confirmed email address in preferences, or a valid email address on the user page). #* Are currently an active contributor on Meta. This is a subjective, not an objective, measure and there is no official post count. # As Meta has a cross wiki role admins here are expected to have cross wiki experience. SUL confirmation or a matrix will mean that editing on other wikis can be easily seen. It would be expected that those seeking adminship here would have both reasonable experience here and on other wikis. # Given the multi lingual nature of Meta, {{user language}} information will be of use to others. # Place a request on this page, by transcluding a subpage, for example {{Meta:Requests for adminship/Example}}. Please put the newest request on the top. Bear in mind that even if you do meet the criteria above this does not mean that the community will automatically approve a request. Please add a minimum ending date to the election, allowing a full 7 day period from the first timestamp. ===Bureaucratship=== Add your request below under the bureaucratship section. Please note: * only active administrators can become bureaucrats, and only after 6 months of regular adminship * User is endorsed by two current bureaucrats after he/she nominates themselves here If you fail any of these requirements, you will not be assigned the bureaucrat flag. For more information see Meta:Bureaucrats ===Other access=== * Temporary adminship: If you need temporary sysop access for a particular reason (such as ability to edit protected pages), you may request temporary adminship on meta. In this case, adminship shall be granted with no requirements and approval, but the user will promise to limit their activity to the necessity of what they asked for. Temporary sysop access will normally be valid for one month. * Bot: Please read the bot policy. This wiki allows global bots and automatic approval of certain types of bots; for other bots, add your request below under the bot section, in the same way as an admin request. * Checkuser: please read the CheckUser policy and add your request below under the checkuser section, in the same way as an admin request. If h satisfies the ordinary heat equation ht = △h with respect to the evolving metric gij(t), then we have d dt R hu = 0 and d dt R hv ≥ 0. Thus we only need to check that for everywhere positive h the limit of R hv as t → T is nonpositive. But it is easy to see, that this limit is in fact zero. 9.4 Corollary. Under assumptions of the previous corollary, for any smooth curve γ(t) in M holds − d dt f(γ(t), t) ≤ 1 2 (R(γ(t), t) + |γ˙ (t)|2) − 1 2(T − t) f(γ(t), t) (9.2) Proof. From the evolution equation ft = −△f + |∇f|2 − R + n 2(T−t) and v ≤ 0 we get ft+1 2R−1 2 |∇f|2− f 2(T−t) ≥ 0. On the other hand,− d dtf(γ(t), t) = −ft− < ∇f, γ˙ (t) >≤ −ft + 1 2 |∇f|2 + 1 2 |γ˙ |2. Summing these two inequalities, we get (9.2). 9.5 Corollary. If under assumptions of the previous corollary, p is the point where the limit δ-function is concentrated, then f(q, t) ≤ l(q, T − t), where l is the reduced distance, defined in 7.1, using p and τ (t) = T − t. As you can clearly see by the below reference subset-sum problem we have proven P=NP.
