"Eres Tú" is Belanova's Spanish language version of the song "What I've Been Looking For" originally performed by Ashley Tisdale, especially recorded for the Latin American edition of the soundtrack of the movie High School Musical.
Disney contacted Universal Music Mexico asking for Belanova to perform one of the tracks included on the soundtrack to promote the movie.[1]
The song hit the Mexican radio on July 25, 2006 and the album went on sale on August 6 along with the Digital Download.
The song has received substantial radio airplay, but its video play on the Latin Disney Channel has been massive, leading the soundtrack to 2x Platinum status for sales over the 200,000 copies in Mexico alone.[2]
