Antheia or Anthia (Greek: Άνθεια) also with the first a accented is a village in the northwestern part of the Evros Prefecture in Greece. Antheia is linked with the road connecting Via Egnatia, the GR-2/E90 (Igoumenitsa - Kozani - Thessaloniki - Kavala - Alexandroupoli) and its nearby interchange which is the only between Alexandroupoli and the GR-51/E85 which is also to the east. Antheia is also in the municipality of Triaianoupoli, the seat of the municipal district and the municipality are in Aristeino or Aristino. Its 2001 population was 862 for the village and 1,308 for the municipal district.

Antheia is located south-southwest of Soufli and Orestiada, west of Turkey, 20 to 25 km east-northeast of Alexandroupoli, northeast of Athens and east of Thessaloniki.

History

After World War II and the Greek Civil War, many of its buildings were rebuilt. Electricity and automobiles arrived in the 1960s, it was linked with pavement in the late-20th century, television arrived in the 1980s. Internet and computers arrived in the late-1990s.

Antheia has a school, a gymnasium (secondary school), a church, and a square (plateia). Its nearest lyceum (middle school), are in Alexandroupoli.
