Cash Cash

Cash Cash is an American band from Roseland, New Jersey. Cash Cash consists of Jean Paul and Alex Makhlouf, Sam Frisch, Michael Doerr, and Anthony Villacari.

History

Cash Cash's members were raised in the small town of Roseland, New Jersey in Northern New Jersey. All members attended Lester C. Noecker grammar school and went on to attended West Essex High School. The group started when best friends Jean Paul, Samuel and then bass player Jeff Sayers (also of Roseland, NJ) formed a band in their youth. They originally began playing together as The Consequence in 2003. The band garnered moderate success in the New Jersey Rock scene playing with bands like The Rocket Summer, The Format, The Early November and Socratic while still being young. In 2004 the band added drummer Michael Diroma (Roseland, NJ) to their line up putting out numerous EP'S. After a brief stint in college Frisch attending Rutgers University, Makhlouf and Sayers attending Drew University (both in New Jersey). Diroma moved on to another musical group in 2005. In 2006 the remaining members released and EP under the name The Consequence after adding Jean Paul's brother Alex and his friend Anthony to the line up. In 2007 they signed with Universal Republic and had to change their name due to legal reasons with a rapper who claimed to have called himself The Consequence before the band, choosing Cash Cash as their new moniker. Their first EP for Universal reached #24 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.[1] The group then toured with Sing it Loud and Metro Station, among others.[2] Their debut full-length was released on December 23rd, 2008 on iTunes and debuted in stores January 20th, 2009, reaching #31 on the Heatseekers chart.[3] They have been confirmed for Warped Tour 2009 and will be supporting UK in late May 2009.
