Miley Jab Hum Tum is a show aires Monday to Friday on the STAR One television channel in India. It is a story of six college friends from diverse backgrounds.

Introduction

Miley Jab Hum Tum (English Translation: When you and I met) is a hindi serial that airs on Star One and is set in Excel College, the coolest college in Mumbai, focusing on college life. Like a lot of colleges, this college has its own stars, an academic champ and an basketball champ . Mayank is the academic champ and Samrat is the basketball champ . They both are the hotties of Excel the one whom you can care complete opposites of each other but as their characters are explored, they seem to have more in common than they knew. For instance, both of them are scared of love but being so different they are always together to solve each problem that they have created. Samrat has many friends, but his best friend is Benji. Benji is Samrat’s partner in crime. One of his other friends is Dia. She is a cheerleader and has two followers, Annie and Chaco. Annie and Chaco are like Dia’s yes-people. Dia also has a brother, Uday. He is foolish and incredibly stupid. He is also Dia’s piñata. They’re all good friends and hang out together a lot. Dia also has two cousins who previously lived in a small town called Morrena but moved to Dia’s place in Mumbai to continue their studies at Excel. Gunjan is a shy girl who likes to stay on the sidelines where nobody can notice her and Nupur is exactly the opposite with a cheerful attitude and a major movie-buff. Mayank is not a mixing person but CJ is his best friend . CJ is the tom boy of the college. If Mayank is in an angry mood no one can interrupt him. This is the only reason that Mayank can be in control . CJ and his mom know it very well and they can handle Mayank . Those who do not how to handle Mayank like Uday are always scared of him.

Plot

The show starts with the Moraina girls having a tough time adjusting to the new college while Dia and the other students are playing practical jokes on Gunjan and Nupur.

As the show develops, Gunjan and Samrat become best friends as Gunjan is able to befriend the bad part of Samrat and protects and helps him through the times he lies and gets too consumed in his popular image. In return, he helps Gunjan bring out the best of her abilities by making her confident on stage and sing in front of the whole college at their annual Talent Parade. Gunjan immediately gets the star status in the college and becomes famous, though she maintains her modest and simple character. They had a fight but patched up after Samrat helped her win the RJ Hunt contest. After that Samrat gives her a special treatment and considers her more important than any other girl though he still considers her the best friend he could ever have. Meanwhile, Gunjan is hit hard with the charm and the special status she is granted and falls in love with Samrat. But she stays quiet as Samrat develops fancy for the new girl at college Sheena. In the upcoming school play, an adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, Sheena is playing the pretty Jane against Samrat who will be playing Mr. Bingley. Gunjan tries hard to hide her feelings for Samrat while Sheena and Samrat are getting closer. Also, Samrat has an enemy in the college—Ranvijay alias RV—the bad boy new to college.

Though Mayank and Nupur never got along, the whole college is surprised when Nupur convinces Mayank to participate in the Talent Parade to dance with her. They give an excellent Salsa performance. Nupur and Mayank decide to be friends but it lasts only until Mayank found out that Nupur took her smarter sister Gunjan’s help in her first project report as Mayank and Nupur were partners. They fight every day but they never get tired of it. They use C-Jay but she clears the path for them to fight for themselves. Then, the exams come up. Nupur is tired of Mayank acting arrogant and unbeatable all the time. She challenges him that she will beat him in the exams and take the number one spot from him. But she comes second by two marks and ends up going to an Academic Meet together being the smartest students. On the trip, Mayank falls in love with Nupur and to avoid her, he fought with her even more. But when he looked at Nupur’s face too long, he forgets the act and starts blushing. They do manage to become friends but Nupur is worried about Mayank’s mood swings and presumes he’s on drugs. When she told Mayank her theory, Mayank felt offended and he yelled at her. But being away from her was even harder than he thought and apologized for his behavior. Nupur forgives him. Mayank comes up with a new solution to stay away from her. He decided that if he stays closer to her, he would come up with reasons to stay away from her but this has exactly the opposite effect. Mayank finds more reasons to be closer to her and meanwhile, Nupur falls in love with Mayank. After Mayank thinks it is impossible for him to refuse that he’s in love with Nupur, he decides he’ll give his love a chance.

For Dia, the time was bad. She never spent any time with Samrat anymore because of Gunjan. She picked on Gunjan by trying to lower her confidence in every way except when it was the college’s reputation she was dealing with. She is very fond of her college and wants the best for it. The more Samrat ignored her, the more desperate she got. Until finally she met RV who made her feel special and better than any other girl. She hated when Samrat tried to ‘protect’ her from him and defended Ranvijay. She does start dating Ranvijay and on her first date Ranvijay takes her to a drug bar. But she doesn’t care and had a good time with him. She also makes Samrat promise that he won’t object her dating RV.Then RV get in a big fight with Samrat and later Uday,benji,and myank comes to help him. RV almost get expelled but has a week to stay good so he can stay in execl college.

Main characters

Mayank (Arjun Bijlani)

Mayank is the intelligent hero of the college - a straight and focused academic. He is witty, well read, smart and intelligent and understands that hard work helps him achieve his goals. he is not one to whom you can call a nerd , he is the smartest guy of the college. He is one of the best friends of Samrat and has many friends. Dia calls him Manky whereas his mother calls him Manu. He always likes completing difficult tasks. Girls are crazy about him. He will finally get along with Nupur, a girl completely opposite his character. He eventually he falls in love with her but denies it.

Nupur (Rati Pandey)

In small town (Morena), Nupur was a spark of electricity for the lazy town. Outspoken and extroverted Nupur has the uncanny ability to chat with anyone in any language. According to small town standards at least, Nupur is a style icon of sorts. She always manages to conjure up ways of standing out of the crowd. She is a Diva in Morena or at least she believes that she is. She has all types of friends from school to college to canteen and net friends. Her motto in life is "chin up". In the city, she faces just the opposite of what she experienced in Morena. She finds it really hard to make even acquaintances forget making friends. Her find for a smart, handsome, popular dream man ends on Mayank who is a simple and somber personality but the hero of college. She is Gunjan's elder sister and Diya and Uday's cousin.

Gunjan (Sanaya Irani)

She is a still lake - shy and reclusive. A studious girl who always came home from school and did her homework before she ate her food. She likes to live a simple non-complicated life. Gunjan was very close to her mother. She oftens misses her and talks to her picture. She doesn't share her feelings about her mother with her father or elder sister. Though being a simple and calm character she ends up being best friends with Samrat. She is starting to fall for him but doesn't realize it. She is Nupur's sister and Diya and Uday's cousin.

Samrat (Mohit Sehgal)

Our hero of the college - cool and fun loving. He is famous for his good looks as well as he is the top sportsman in the college. He likes to play pranks but he doesn't mean to hurt anybody. He is an egotistic Basket ball star who has won many trophies for his college, and prides everything he does. Though he hangs out with Diya his relationship with Diya isn't a committed one. He likes hanging around with Diya, as she is gorgeous but it is from Diya's perspective a relationship that is meant to happen but goes on to Gunjan.

Diya (Navina Bole)

She is the Diva in her college - the most hot and happening student. All the boys in the college are fascinated by her. She is a trend setter in looks and carries her clothes with great confidence. Everyone likes Diya, but she likes Samrat. She hangs around with him most of the time giving others an impression that Samrat is her boy friend but Samrat doesn't think like that. This equation takes a sharp turn when Samrat falls for Gunjan. Diya uses Uday to get her things done. She has a gang of three "chamchas" - A, B and C who follow her in every aspect.

Uday (Jas Karan Singh)

Uday is a slow and dumb witted comic relief for the show. He tries to put up this brave exterior, but somewhere inside he is a fearful person. He is actually scared of many things - his sister, cockroaches, Samrat and Mayank, and the dark among other things. He has all kinds of paraphernalia for exercise. Diya is elder to Uday by a minute and she has always been bullying him. He can put up a front of being a bully but this can at a later stage be shattered bit by bit by Nupur and Gunjan. He used to make fun of Gunjan and Nupur along with Diya and everybody else but later he starts liking his new cousins. Diya calls him "Dodo".Amidst all the emotional scenes,Uday is the character who brings life to his near and dear ones.He had developed a liking for his class mate C.J. but now is after his new dramatics teacher Miss Tammanna , whom he invariably calls Tam instead of Ma'am.lol

Supporting Characters

Sheena (Preeti Keswani) :

Latest entry in Miley Jab Hum Tum. She is a modern, fashionable girl who grabs everyone's attention. From the onset it seems she carries around attitude, but is later revealed she is good at heart. She is an actor who will take part in a play the college is preparing for. She plays the love interest of Samrat. Her entry will have an effect on all the main characters in the show.

Rannvijay:

New entry in Miley Jab Hum Tum who becomes a competion for Samrat and Mayank. Having lots of attitude he challenges Samrat in almost everything and tries to impress Diya.

Benji:

Samrat’s best friend. He helps Samrat in whatever he says, and he is nice at heart. He doesn't like Diya & her Chamchas but remains friendly with them just for Samrat. He also calls Gunjan his best friend.

CJ:

Mayank's & Nupur's friend & classmate. The Tomboy of the college, who is on a constant war with Diya and is a best friend of mayank. Uday used to like CJ, but she kept putting him off by saying that they were just friends. She still saved him from losing a bet with Diya when she turned up to be his Valentine partner.

Annie:

Diya's classmate. She thinks she is just like Diya & always emulates her. She is Diya's Chamchi, and always follows whatever Diya says & orders.

Chakko:

Diya's other Chamcha & her classmate. He always follows whatever Diya or Annie says.

Tamanna Seth:

Tamanna is a new English teacher.Uday falls in love with Tamanna.

Little Sam:

Samrat’s Half-Blown basketball, who he considers his friend and later on gives to Gunjan. Gunjan keeps him with her like her best friend. She shares her deepest and most depressing secrets with only Samrat and Little Sam.

Purab:

A contestant for the RJ Hunt who became Gunjan's friend later on. He's Samrat's old childhood friend who met after a couple of years. Gunjan believes him to be her secret friend for some time.But later Purab helps Gunjan and Samrat sort out thier problems.

Vidushi:

Another contestant of the RJ hunt,who has a lot of attitude.She thinks no one is better than her and she demoralises Gunjan so that Gunjan doesnt win the RJ hunt.

Mayank = Nupur calls him Mankey ( its MANKY , not monkey) his mother calls him Mayu and Samrat calls him MOB ( My opposite brother ).

Samrat = Other students usually call him Sam or Sammy.

Dia = Samrat calls her Candy.

Gunjan = Samrat calls her Chush-mish (rhymes with crush-fish). Same as Specsy

Mayank & Nupur = Together they are called Mayur (pronounced: ma-yur)
