Upton Tea Imports is a company based in Hopkinton, MA that sells specialty teas. The company was founded in 1989 and is owned and operated by Thomas Eck.[1] Upton carries only loose tea and does not sell any teabags.[2]

Upton publishes the "Upton Tea Quarterly" which is primarily a mail-order catalog of their teas, but also contains historical and educational information about tea.[3]

The company also sells teapots, including one that comes with a tea infuser with a wire mesh.[4]

One expensive grade of Assam tea, selling for $45.75 for 100 grams, was one of Upton's most popular teas in 2008; a buyer for the company remarked that although the tea was expensive as teas go, it is much cheaper than the highest grades of wine, coffee, or Scotch whisky.[5]
