Iain Purdy

Iain Purdy (born in North Shields on April 8, 1986) is an English cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm slow bowler who played for Northumberland.

Purdy, who made his 1st XI debut for Tynemouth in 2000, at the age of just fourteen, and who still plays for the side as of 2009, appeared in a single List A match for Northumberland in August 2003. Two days after appearing in this match, he returned to Tynemouth and took three wickets, including that of future Durham bowler Graham Onions.

In August 2002, At the age of 16, he became the youngest player to play for Northumberland CCC (he no longer holds this record) and took 5-68.
