Matt Toeaina [toe-EE-nuh] (born October 9, 1982) in San Francisco, California[1]) is an American football defensive tackle for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League. He was originally drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the sixth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played college football at Oregon.
Professional career
With the Bengals, in a 2007 preseason game against the Detroit Lions, he returned an interception for 81 yards and a touchdown—an improbable achievement for a 311 pound defensive tackle.[2] Toeaina, however did not make the Bengals final roster, and was signed to their practice squad.[citation needed] He saw his first regular season action when the Chicago Bears signed him late in the season. Due to injuries, he got to play against the Minnesota Vikings. He registered 3 tackles, 2 of them for losses, and managed to slow down rookie sensation Adrian Peterson.[citation needed]
