Joey LaRocque (born March 15, 1986 in Template:City-state) is an American football linebacker for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Bears in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played college football at Oregon State.

Early years

He was Named All-California Interscholastic Federation as a senior at Agoura High School and team M.V.P. as a senior and was selected as defensive MVP of an East-West All-Star Game

College career

He made an immediate impact at Oregon State (2006-07), leading the team in tackles over the two seasons he played in Corvallis. He started all 27 games he played at OSU at WLB. and finished his career with 184 tackles (104 solo), 3.0 sacks, 16.0 TFLs, 3 INTs, 6 PBUs and 2 FR In 2007 he was Second-team All-Pac-10 , starting all 13 games at WLB making 86 tackles 10 for losses, three sacks, two interceptions and credited with 3 PBUs and 1 FR. He Returned an INT 49 yards for a TD vs. Arizona. In 2006 he had 98 tackles (44 solo) with 6.5 for losses, 1 INT and 1 FR. He was First-team JC All-American by the California Community College Football Coaches Association after he made a team-high 103 tackles to go along with 11.5 sacks as his team went 12-1. That season he scored 2 TDs - 1 INT return, 1 fumble return. He posted 59 tackles as College of the Canyons went 14-0 and claimed the state title.

Chicago Bears

He was drafted by the Bears in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft. LaRocque signed to a four-year contract Friday, May 30, 2008.
