Zehava Ben was born in the Southern Israeli town of Be'er-Sheva. Her music combines Middle Eastern, North African, Arabic, Jewish, Turkish and Greek melodies, rhythms and styles of singing.

In 1995, when only 25 years old, she filled the Paris Theatre de La Ville, with an Umm Kalthoum repertoire, accompanied by a full oriental orchestra, to enthusiastic reviews by the local press.

Her albums have reached multi-platinum status in Israel, while she is also the best selling Israeli in the Arab world, with a huge number of cassettes sold.
