Article was tagged speedy, I moved it here. The issue to me is whether the list is merely information under Feist. If the list represents editorial choices, that is "it possesses at least some minimal degree of creativity," then a copyright seems to apply. If not, I don't see the copyright as applicable. In this case, the determination of Who is a Jew? might represent an editorial choice, ergo make the list fall under copyright. For instance, the inclusion of John Harsanyi, whose parents converted from Judaism to Catholicism before his birth, may be an example of editorial decision-making. My inclination is towards deletion. I should note, however, I am not a lawyer and copyright subtleties are not much in my line. What are other folks thoughts? --TeaDrinker (talk) 06:09, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that a previous Wikipedia article "List of Jewish Nobel laureates" (which like this one was copied off JINFO.ORG without permission, but at least with attribution) was nominated for deletion two years ago, with the consensus decision on 22 July 2007 having been to delete: [5]. The issue at that time was category relevance, not copyright infringement. Does a single editor with no history on Wikipedia get to unilaterally override such consensus deliberations and decisions?
