Mangin mirror

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Trilobitealive (talk | contribs) at 23:43, 5 July 2009 (this article seems neglected so I'll add a reference). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

In optics, a Mangin mirror is a combined lens-mirror (catadioptric) system, consisting of a concave lens with a reflective rear side. Mangin mirrors are used in illumination optics and in some telescope designs, notably the Klevtsov-Cassegrain and Argunov-Cassegrain telescopes, as well as the lesser-known Schupmann telescope.[1]
