Hi,

You recently "delete" the page I created for "The Franklin Party" and I'm not sure why? I believe I had multiple references, my data was accurate, there was no copyright issues, and this is a real political organization which is in the process of registrering in three major states. Please help me with the distinctions I've missed in order to have this page accepted.

Thanks in advance, Brian Boeheim --Bboeheim (talk) 18:20, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The "multiple references" were to your own website and book. The independent references that you cited did not mention the Franklin Party. There's no evidence in the article that this party has been recognized as notable (see WP:ORG) by any independent source (see WP:V). Also, this is your party, based on your book, and you therefore shouldn't be the one writing about it. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:33, 2 July 2009

Thanks for the reply - First, I would like to be clear that it is not my party and even though it started from a somewhat fictional place it has become very real with a growing number of regional leaders and followers. Like anything new, it is growing from its point of origin out. That means that all interviews and articles tend to focus on the book at this point. I tried to limit the number of references to the book since my intention is not to promote the book, but instead give a reference for the Franklin Party. If someone else wrote The Franklin Party page would that make the difference? Much of the support for the party is coming via the net since the mainstream media is violently opposed to anything that takes attention away from the Democratic party. Do Blog references provide the notability your suggesting? Please advise...thanks in advance.

Tiananmen Square Redirect

Thanks for your assistance on the Tiananment Square issue. A redirect to the appropriate article was, I think, a better solution than my original proposal of deletion. Good call!Simonm223 (talk) 20:51, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nawlin. Do you have any objection if I G11 this one that you prodded? It's been tagged for G11 probably for COI, and given the page creator's username (User:Thedharmaleeds) and lack of contributions, I'm leaning in favor of G11. But if you would rather stick with the prod, that's fine. (Watching) - Dank (push to talk) 18:38, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
