Walter Burley Griffin

Walter Burley Griffin was an American architect (b. Maywood, Illinois 1876 - d 1937). He worked for a time for Frank Lloyd Wright in Oak Park, Illinois. He achieved his greatest fame in 1912 when he won the design competition for Australia's new capital Canberra. He also designed the inner northern Sydney suburb of Castlecrag.

He later moved to Australia, and is now recognized among the list of important urban planners.
