Arbuthnott is the name of a village in Kincardineshire from which stems a family that is now world-wide. Those who live in Scotland generally spell the name "Arbuthnott" while those who live elsewhere spell it "Arbuthnot". The village contains a small kirk in which the Arbuthnott Missal, an important Roman Catholic book was written.
