Nusa Lembongan

Nusa Lembongan is an island located 12 km southeast of Bali, Indonesia. Administratively, the island is a subdistrict of subdistrict of Klungkung regency. Nusa Lembongan is one of three small islands close together, the others being: Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan. The Badung Strait separates these three islands from Bali. Nusa Lembongan is the only one of the 3 to have any tourist infrastructure and is a popular side destination for visitors to Bali.
Nusa Lembongan is approximately 8 square kilometres in size with a popluation estimated at 5,000 [1]. The economy is largely tourism-based but there is basic subsistence agriculture and fishing [2] on the island and a thriving seaweed farming micro-industry [3].
