PD tag bears no relation to source page, where it says this may be restricted and that research is needed. i don't think anyone has done the necessary research and don't know if it's even possible to confirm the copyright status Calliopejen1 (talk) 04:05, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Keep Per the Library of Congress online document Copyright and Other Restrictions That Apply to Publication/Distribution of Images: Assessing the Risk of Using a P&P Image, the Rights and Restrictions statements for both the Encyclopedia Britannica collection and Wide World (facts associated with the image, the collection from which it comes, and the company that made it) have been researched. The image is not marked with a copyright notice and no registration has been found. The image has been widely reproduced and there is no evidence of any copyright claim being made on it. A good faith and comprehensive effort has been made to determine the image's copyright status, and all available evidence indicates that it is in the public domain per the existing tag.—DCGeist (talk) 12:54, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
