Frankie Poultney (born 1 March 1973) is a professional British adagio ice skater.
Early years
Poultney started skating at age 10, and at 18 she got a job as a chorus girl in a French ice show. She is originally from Sheffield in South Yorkshire (Great Britain), and loves traditional meals such as roast dinner, sausage and mash, fish and chips, and bread-and-butter pudding.
Series two
In 2007, Poultney partnered English footballer Lee Sharpe, and they made it to week seven, giving them a credible fifth place in the competition.
Series three
In series three, she was paired with Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain. In seven out of ten weeks they had the highest score on the leader board. In the final, Fountain and Poultney competed against Zaraah Abrahams and Suzanne Shaw. Before the final two performed their boléro routines, Zaraah Abrahams and her professional partner Fred Palascak were eliminated, leaving Poultney and Fountain to compete against Shaw and her professional partner Matt Evers. In a controversial public vote[1], Poultney and Fountain finished in second position.
Series four
Poultney appeared in the current series of Dancing on Ice, this time partnering British rugby legend Ellery Hanley. In week one, Hanley and Poultney came second place on the leaderboard with 17.5 (out of a maximum 30) points. In week two of the competition, they battled against Jeremy Edwards and Darya Nucci. They proceeded to week three with a clean sweep vote in the skate-off. Todd Carty, and professional partner Susie Lipanova, faced Poultney and Hanley in the week four skate-off, with Poultney and Hanley surviving with four votes to one. However, in week five they were not as successful. The couple were again in the skate off, this time against Melinda Messenger and her partner Fred Palascak, and lost by four votes to one.
Personal life
Poultney lived in Vancouver Island, Canada with her husband Andrew. They had been married for four years until they split in June 2009. She is currently living with (the still-married dad of four) ex-England goalkeeper David Seaman; they were dance partners on the show Dancing on Ice.
