Microparasite

A microparasite is a parasite that multiplies directly within their host, usually inside host cells. They can complete a full life cycle inside a single host and generally can not be seen with the naked eye. Most are viruses, bacteria and fungi with a smaller number being protists. Examples include salmonella and HIV.
