Founded in 1913, the San Luis Central Railroad (reporting mark SLC) was founded to haul sugar beets to be processed. The railroad was acquired in 1969 by the Pea Vine Corporation and today operates freight traffic through connections with the San Luis and Rio Grande Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad hauling mainly grain, potatoes and fetilizer.
