Peter McManus Cafe
The Peter McManus Café is among the oldest family-owned and operated bars in New York City. It opened in 1936 and is located in Chelsea, Manhattan at 152 Seventh Avenue and 19th Street. The bar has been Zagat rated and written in numerous articles and received several awards[citation needed]. It was written about in the book, "The Hundred Best Bars in NYC" and placed very highly[citation needed]. The current proprietor is James Justin McManus.
The bar has been featured in a number of films and television programs, including Highlander, Radio Days, Keeping the Faith, Seinfeld, Law and Order and Saturday Night Live [1].
