Proposed deletion of Pachyna

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Pachyna, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

This article is apparently incorrect and misleading.

None of the references given provide any information about "Pachyna". A google search for "Pachyna" gives no results, other than this article. It is unlikely that "Pachyna" is a type of moth as this article claims.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Template for a shoutbox!

About your idea of templatizing the shoutbox, it really did a mess in my talk page when you put it there, however, I have been considering and testing it (in my sandbox) and i found some errors:

  • It has a bug that doesn´t let you sign (maybe not to all signatures, but since it fails with mine, so do others surely)
  • You can make a general template, but what if a user wants to move the shoutbox to some other position, if he alter the main template, he would be altering everyone's, so he would have to avoid having the template (having it raw as it is originally)
  • The space reduced is not really much (since it´s only big (well, not big, medium) in the edit section (source code), not in the talk page)

In the other hand:

  • As you said, it will reduce space, wherever, but it will reduce it
  • I actually think that your idea of making a general template is really good, but it has to be positioned in the most non disruptive place for users' talk pages in general
  • Having a non-general template (for example: User:Example/Shoutbox) could be a good suggestion for those who want to have it as a template, but who also want to have it in a different position (maybe some users still prefer to use more space in source code than in creating subsections)

So in conclusion, if you manage to fix the main bug of the signing, that would be great and I will consider adding this to the manual, specially the suggestion of the non-general template. - Damërung ...ÏìíÏ..._Ξ_ . --  02:34, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was about to say that it would be a good idea to have a section for this in wikipedia (like: Template:Shoutbox) but I´ve seen that Bugboy52.40 has already boldly done that (congrats). I feel like I went behind your back when I made the template and asked around, but I thought a collaboration would be nice and to get other's opinions. I am currently working on those bugs dam you bugs..., to me the bug with the sig is a paradox, it is truly perplexing, while everything else can be easily fixed. I have identified the problem, if you notice in my sig, the straight dash ( | ), is conflicting with the box syntax, it thinks that anything in front of | is apart of the box. Is there any way to move |} above the text? Bugboy52.4 | =-= 03:39, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean with 'above text'? Perhaps you can try this:

I will do that and tell you when it is done. Subst: means that the page using the template is not going to have {{template example}} on their page, but will have the actual source on their page. Does that make sense? Do you think it is good to tell users to append subst: to the beginning, or not?

Dude, that's too many indents! When there are 3 indents in a talk page conversation, the indent thing starts over. This barnstar is for creating the template. Damërung did not have much to do with the template, just the shoutbox. Of course you helped with the Template, and now we have an easy way for everybody to have the shoutbox! In return I offer you an improvement to your latin translation: I've read only a little Virgil and precious little else, but "is vidit id quoque" for "he saw it too" sounds wrong. Sorry for the slow response, I decided to get lost on the University of Maryland campus for a bit.
Anyway, I like the idea of a menu-toolbar-thing much like the one on all of your and User:Download's subpages. I'd like to base my userpage on a menu-toolbar above a blue border which would contain all the fun stuff. Hi Bugboy!

It's me again. I have come for your help. I am preparing Ctenomorphodes chronus. It is a stick insect. The draft is here [1]. The bug has a zillion synonyms and the taxonomy is changing a lot. I am just wondering if I am making a duplicate article or if the taxobox is way off. I could use your guidance.

This stick insect could generate interest at DKY because it is a strange bug. From preliminary research it looks like it drops eggs for ants to carry away, plus it is parthenogenetic and it's a sex maniac.

Well, after quite an extensive search, I've found nothing else on this species. I was really hoping to find more info on the fate of the eggs. Erythrism

Hi Bugboy, sorry that it took me so long to reply to your question regarding erythrism; I was traveling. I don't know the answer to your question. Personally I would think that the pink form of Amblycorypha oblongifolia should be qualified as "erythrism", but I'm not an expert. Re:genre

Sorry... Must not have been thinking straight when I put that genre in.

But you do have to admit, it is sorta hard to categorize Slow Burn (another song that has had difficulty genre wise) and Falling down, Genre wise. Like, they are by a Metalcore band, but Falling down has traits of Hard rock, Post-Hardcore, Pop Punk, Pop Rock, Punk Rock, Alternative rock, and even Glam rock in it; and Slow burn has traits of Metalcore in the backing lyrics (you can hear guttural screaming in the background), and synth rock, pop rock, hard rock, and post-hardcore. But people insist on calling both Metalcore and Alternative metal, which I think is insane. Altenhofen 01:35, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
