Mugdha Vaishampayan

Mugdha Vaishampayan (Template:Lang-mr, born April 05, 2000) was one of the finalist in Marathi Idea SA RE GA MA PA aired on Zee Marathi channel during July 2008-February 2009.

Background

Mugdha was born in Alibag to parents Bhagwan Vaishampayan, a working professional in reputed petroleum company and Bhagyashree Vaishampayan, a housewife. Her inherent talent of singing was identified by her father when she was only 2 years old. In an attempt to cultivate this, Mugdha received formal training in fundametal music from Sunil Mhatre, Sheetal Kunte, Anuradha Velankar and Bhagwan Vaishampayan at very tender age. Soon her latent qualities & versatility began to surface out in the form of mind-boggling executions of Marathi songs. ‘Mugdha Vaishampayan’ became a familiar name in every household of Maharashtra after her dream run in ‘Idea Sa Re Ga Ma Little Champs’.

Career

Idea Sa Re Ga Ma Little Champs

In 2008, Mugdha was auditioned for the Idea Sa Re Ga Ma Little Champs, a competitive music reality show organized by the Zee Marathi television channel. She was one of final 50 who were selected amongst several thousand children all along Maharashtra aged between 8 to14. With shear talent, strenuous efforts & amazing grit, she won hearts of millions of viewers. Enjoying this grand success while giving fierce competition to the participants greater than her age, she broke into top 5 finalists chosen by learned judges and common people for megafinal. The ease with which Mugdha handled difficult numbers in a show or on stage in her crowd-puller public appearances,was simply astonishing. Though her tender voice portrays fervent emotions extremely well, she had astounding command over wholesome range of all genres –folk, devotional, classical and modern foot-tapping ones. She was applauded several times during the competition by many honorable celebrity judges for her mesmerizing renditions. Mugdha was popolarly known as The Little Monitor on the show.

Mugdha has gifted voice,required base knowledge and works hard to understand the thread-bare of music. Her natural trait is singing in bright notes i.e. in high octave. However, she also furnishes softer melodies and soul touching songs with utmost perfection. She exhibits tremendous confidence. This blended with amazing simplicity and characteristic innocence, makes her performance the unique experience of its own kind.

During the course of the program, Mugdha was awarded with the prestigious title ‘Raigad Bhushan’. She is the youngest one to have received such award from any elected Government body.
