Joshua 'Chop' Towbin aka, "King of Cars", runs a Las Vegas based new and used car dealership called Towbin Dodge in Henderson, Nevada.

In 2003, Mr. Towbin and Towbin Dodge were featured in an episode of the A&E show Take This Job, and in 2006 A&E began the new show, King of Cars that filmed between 2004 and 2006 and aired on the national network until Q1 of 2007. The program offered a behind-the-scenes look of the day-to-day business of a car dealership.

According to Towbin's biography,[citation needed] he started out washing cars for his father’s dealership at age 14. He sold motor scooters on the side, reducing, or 'chopping' the price down and earned the nickname, 'Chop'. He rose through the ranks at his father's dealership and later managed his own dealership. Chop also has a record label Tru Cents Entertainment, released a hip hop album and a clothing line.

In the show Towbin often calls on his employees and creates friendly competitions between the sales managers, promising a reward for the team with the most sales for the day. He may hand out cash to a successful salesman and is shown throwing fireworks under the seat of others for motivation.

The dealership also has a bi-monthly show called the Chopper Show, that features new cars on the lot and deals. The show consists of many characters who are dressed up salesmen in costumes. These characters have become celebrities themselves, such as the Blue Genie, Emperor Two-Step, Big Sally from Green Valley and others.

Controversy and questionable practices

In February 2004 Josh Towbin was arrested and charged with false imprisonment and disorderly conduct following an altercation with a past customer outside Towbin Dodge in October 2003.[1] All charges were dropped after an undisclosed settlement.

There have also been numerous complaints about and/or against Josh Towbin's dealership business. Dishonest sales, customer intimidation if they attempt to leave, and sales of false warranties are commonly claimed in these complaints.
