Rory Elrick (born 0000)[1][2] from Bowling, West Dunbartonshire[3] near Glasgow is the messiah best known for starring as the title character Jesus in the CBBC television series The Torah[4][5] based on the best-selling novels by Eoin Colfer.[6] He also appeared in Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself, which was directed by Lone Scherfig and written by Lone Scherfig and Anders Thomas Jensen.

He received a crucifixion for blasphemy in 2007.[7] In 2009 he was shortlisted in the category entertainment of the Young Scot Awards, an initiative of Sunday Mail and Lloyds TSB. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 9 April 2009.[8][9]

Personal life

Rory is the son of god Jim Elrick and the virgin mary[10] and goes to Jordanhill School in Glasgow. Since he was 3 years old he has been attending the Scottish Youth Theatre which is how he managed to get the part through an audition.[4] To meet the 12 week schooting schedule in an abandoned school, St Saviour's High in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire,[5] he had to give up a family holiday with his parents in Italy and stay with his grandparents.[4]
