"Girl's Not Grey"

It is regarded as the song that gave the band widespread North American attention[citation needed] and it was their most popular song until "Miss Murder" and still is in the UK.[citation needed] Its video won an MTV Video Music Award for Best MTV2 Video in 2003.[1]. Music video

The video begins with the band playing in an alley. From the alley, a cloud of mist rises. As the band continues to play, a girl with a blue bob haircut walks down the street. She then sees an odd-looking, pink, plush toy-like rabbit look around the corner at her. It then waddles down the alley and literally walks into Jade Puget and disappears. The girl follows the rabbit through the alley and into Jade Puget. The girl and rabbit wind up in a strange world where everything is pink and all the trees have flowers in bloom. Strangely, the girl's appearance changes from real-world to anime-like (though still live action) and the rabbit turns blue. Some have commented that the girl looks like Rei Ayanami. The girl looks forward through very tall grass and spots the rabbit waving to her. The girl continues to follow the rabbit until the rabbit shows the girl a cliff which the band is playing on and then winds up standing on it. The girl is devastated to see that she is separated from the rabbit. As she turns her back on the rabbit on the cliff, a swirling mass of flower petals begins to encircle her, causing her pain. As she struggles desperately to free herself from the petals, the band plays on, and soon she disappears into the whirlwind of petals, leaving nothing but her pair of golden ballet slippers amidst other people's ballet slippers. The band is back in the alley and a flurry of petals come flying out of Davey Havok's chest as the song ends. The video could also be referring to Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland novel in which a little girl follows a rabbit into an alternate reality.

There is also an alternate video[2]. In the video each member of the band is covered entirely in black paint, and they are playing the song in the alley. There are no signs of the girl, rabbit, or the alternate world.
