Thanks!

It's nice knowing someone has my back where my talk page is concerned. Frankly, I never thought of a simple stretch (blush). Many, many thanks.--PMDrive1061 (talk) 00:43, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How to translate

Hi there. Is there an easy way to translate articles on wikipedia? I don't know that much in order to create significant articles and I would like to translate articles from English and French to Romanian and the other way round, but I get lost in formatting, importing templates and so on. Is there a way to have the page divided vertically in two and me translating only the text without caring about the formatting? (too many ing's endinds, maybe I'm not that good at English) Calusarul (talk) 15:52, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, please explain to me the valid context of this article, and why it should not be speedily deleted. I'm obviously missing something. --mhking (talk) 16:22, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion

I was told by this name to delete a topic I had written on, and I'm not sure why. There is information on all of the other fictional things surrounding the Sookie Stackhouse series, and the Bar (Fangtasia) is a big part of that. I thought it deserved its own post. Is that wrong? This is my first time posting something. I realize there was a post on that topic deleted before, but I see nothing wrong or misleading about the post. Let me know what I need to change to make it okay. Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tkriss (talkcontribs) 19:38, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

For the speedy reversion of the vandal's addition to my talk page. It's like playing whackamole when they create several accounts for the sole purpose of repetitive idiotic insertion of vandalism and reversion to the vandal edit. Edison (talk) 21:08, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

Mr.Kingpin13- Thank you for your explanation! It was so so helpful! I looked to see why the page was deleted, and it suggested that I link it to the True Blood or Character homepages? I feel at a loss because I have no idea as how to go about this. I feel awful for asking your advice again, but you seem to know what you're doing! Also, thank you very much for commenting on my manners. As a southern girl I take great pride in being polite! My Grandmother'd be proud to hear that I'm civil even on the internet! Thank you again! Thanks

For the heads up about the mistaken page I created. I did create the right page in the end, but forgot to deal with the leftover. Sorry about that and again, thanks for letting me know. AtheWeatherman 20:49, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, I have finalized this bot request, it is now a very simple request. Thanks.  bsmithme  20:53, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No prob.  :)

I thought that was a rather strange entry, though. Not sure what the user had in mind, but it read like a placeholder. Thanks for the tip.  :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:02, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedian of the Day

Congratulations, Kingpin13! The first week of each monthly cycle of "Wikipedian of the..." will consist of repeats from the previous month; the repeats did not received WOTW last month.
For your further kindness to others, your hard work around the wiki, and for being a great user since the last time you were Wikipedian of the Day, you have been named "Wikipedian of the Day" once again, for today, September 3, 2009! Keep up the great work!
Note: You now have another chance to be Wikipedian of the Week!

Happy editing!

Edit Header

Hiya boss - FYI, not sure if you knew but your talk page edit header sometimes doubles up. Strange. Doubles on overall page edits, and on section edits, but not on new section additions.  ?!?  7  02:27, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Can you tell me how you would handle this user page? It is a direct copy of John_Cohen_(NASCAR_owner) but yet you explained to me that CSD tags don't apply to userpages. I am inclined to invoke option #7 of the WP:UP#NOT policy, but don't know if it should be PROD'd or xFD'd. Can you give me some advice on this? Thanks. ArcAngel (talk) 20:27, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and thanks for the message. You're correct that I added the {{notability}} tag to this article despite the existence of sources, as it seemed a bit like a WP:ONEEVENT to me. However, I hadn't noticed it had previously passed AFD. I'm still uncertain about his long-term notability (if in six months' time there's nothing more to add to this article, I might take it back to AFD), but for the time being I'll remove the template. My article falls well within the boundaries of wikipedias guidelines and is partially under construction. I have edited the talk page for you to look at but i would like to get rid of that as soon as possible because it looks ridiculous for me to be fighting to keep a legitimate article on the free encyclopedia. I have contacted the user who attempted to destroy my page and i will want to kepp the article in its orginial format by tonight, so please be quick i have to write an article for each of the robots and technology and i cant spend another 45 minutes wondering why wikipedia doesnt like me anymore. I understand there is no way for me to stop destructive edits of my articles, but i did remove that long warning, because it is better to have no page then have a page which reflects badly on the company or makes it look illegitiamte in any way, shape or form, and i will continue to reverse any destructive edits made on my articles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Canadiansteve (talkcontribs) 19:55, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kingpin we are writing this article with students from ETS university, and i do work for the company, but am completely aware of wikipedia's desire to keep articles neutral. I am here only to provdie details and the students are helping, so yes the article is not mine, as a matter of fact it says from wikipedia right on top but i assure the article is very relevant, and though it is under construction, you may see referecnes made by credible 3rd parties at http://roboticsdesign.qc.ca/news.html. Thank you for your understanding.20:12, 4 September 2009 (UTC)Canadiansteve (talk)

Kingpin please, i have been working on this article and would like to show it to the invontor of ANAT technology by tonight when we are scheduled to meet, and it looks horrible with all these ominous warnings on it, please remove at least the warning that you want to delete the page so it is presentable. I am aware of the sources issue and will link it over the weekend, but if i show him something that is to be deleted maybe it wont look good on me or other ETS students at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Canadiansteve (talkcontribs) 20:18, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Kingpin. I am going to show the inventor now, but will be working heavily on this article any many other that are linked or will be linked to it, so by monday it should start to look the part of a nice untouchable wikipedia article. The problem is that most media sources that mentionned the article have done so in French, therefore i wanted to add only those when i made the article in french, and put all the English sources with the proper page (EP&T magazine will be publishing an article, written by me, in their september issue which i will put as a reference, but i want to keep everything, including references, short and sweet.) Once again thank you for your help and if you discover any problems with my article email me at helloman911777@hotmail.com and i will be happy to do whatever you want, although the university students who wrote with me will not be availble to help after today. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Canadiansteve (talkcontribs) 20:33, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! You seemed very interested in helping out with redirect fixes, so I made a report of redirects that contain red links (usually bad template or category names). Any help would appreciated. Cheers. --MZMcBride (talk) 23:48, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination

Hi, its been a couple of days since you commented so I was wondering how the article I nominated at [1] stands. I've added categories to it as you requested. Thanks, Tgv8925 (talk) 04:53, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Also, possible spam for kool-aid". Hehe. I agree with deletion, but I think your spam detector needs readjusting, as this is a common thing for teenagers to do with no encouragement from Kraft.[2] It has even been written about by the press:[3] Fences&Windows 21:18, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
