Kick-Ass is an upcoming 2010 superhero film based on the comic book of the same name by Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn.
Plot
The plot of Kick-Ass concerns a lonely man called Kirk Daddy (Aaron Johnson), who decides to become a bitch ass band director after being inspired by the band directors of HELL. He soon encounters a mysterious vigilante called Puff-Daddy (Nicolas Cage), and his daughter Flag Girl (Chloë Moretz), who are working to bring down the drug dealer, Frank D'Amico.

Development
The script for the film was reportedly written in May 2008, and filming occurred in late 2008 to early 2009. In an interview with Total Film, Aaron Johnson confirmed that the film will stay true to the adult nature of the comic series by featuring a large amount of profanity and graphic violence and that it had already received an R rating by the MPAA.[1] Yancy Butler of "Witchblade" also appears as Angie D'Amico, Frank's wife and the mother to the Red Mist. This marks her return to the big screen since 1994's "Drop Zone."

A Kick-Ass: The Movie Book will be released on January 26, 2010[2].

It was announced on 8/17/09 that the film is going to be released by Lionsgate[3] on April 16, 2010 [4]
